Penn Mahoning Ambulance Association offers an annual residential subscription program that helps cover the costs over and above what your insurance covers when utilizing the ambulance service. If you need an ambulance, the association will bill your insurance and accept the portion that your insurance does not cover for up to 3 services per year. This can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. This subscription drive also helps support the mission of the Penn Mahoning Ambulance Association. Common Subscription Questions
- What subscription types are there?
- Single Membership – Covers a single person in a single-person household family.
- Household – Covers all family members and any visitors in the residence.
- Why should I pay for a subscription if I have insurance?
- If you need emergency medical treatment/transport, our EMS billing company bills your insurance for emergency services rendered. This bill is more than $950.00 and can be more than $1,700.00; insurance, on average, only covers $530.00. Depending on what your insurance allows, all or only a portion of this bill may be covered. As a subscriber of Penn-Mahoning Ambulance, any unpaid balance(s) for emergency services rendered will be forgiven, as required by law. This may result in savings of hundreds of dollars to YOU, the subscriber!
- What does my subscription cover?
- A subscription covers any unpaid balance after receiving insurance money for up to three (3) transports in a year. No out-of-pocket expenses are incurred, excluding your yearly deductible whether in or out of network for those first three modes of transport. Other non-transport services are provided to subscribers with no out-of-pocket costs, regardless of usage.
- What if my insurance doesn’t pay or I don’t have insurance?
- The subscription only covers costs not paid by your insurance policy. If you do not have insurance, the subscription will not cover the cost of the service in lieu of having insurance.
- My insurance sent me a check.
- Subscribers must remit any insurance checks received for services rendered by Penn Mahoning Ambulance immediately upon receipt, as mandated by Federal law.
